claim system

I have been playing with the claim system a little and wanted to post an observation.

It seems as though [claim yields 100 gp for any creature you slay. Given that, I can get 100 gp for killing a rat or 100 gp for killing a dragon. It seems as though this will lead to a pretty significant money imbalance in the game. One can just camp easy spawns and clean up on money, for money, there is less of a reason to take the risk and fight bigger creatures, you can get the same amount of cash for killing a few more smaller things.

i prob wont be able to do anything till Monday since i have work yea i know sucks...i also gonna have taming bods in next week..(and hopefully the carp bods, no promises) The taming system is completely custom, Soo im gonna depend on peoples feedback, if the rewards aren't right..not working etc....etc..

Just a thought, but, maybe we should run a modified BOD system (giving them out more frequent or something) so that we can test. The breeder won't even talk to me right now.

yea the breeder isnt ready yet the bod system isnt ready i work on weekends 16 hrs sat and 16 sunday i will ahve em done by turesday and im gonna half all the bod timers

I've noticed that the loot bags are 5000 tokens a pop. I've already died twice without insuring it. I beleive people will be going thru these alot. To keep the shard free of unwanted pixels (loot) laying astrude across the landscape, why not cheapen them a lil. Say like 2500 tokens. That way peeps can get new ones pretty easily. Just a thought. And as for the gold drop of claiming corpses, yeah this should be tweaked some.

Monster level + Char Fame div. by Char + Pets. = Gold drop(claim)

Given: 100gp per level creature.

10gp per level of fame in positive and negative directions.

no Fame = 0 (as base) 25 +/- levels

# of Bodys in action (character + tamed pets)

Example:
Level 5 creature (500gp) + Fair [lvl-5] (50gp) '/. 3 (char + 2) = 183gp (rounded up)

Got to be gm Taming for the breeder to talk to you. All it says that you can breed two pets...get a second gen pet..

The Problem with that is ok u are Lord ingame the highest fame and karma...you kill a drag with the highest fame and karma.. ull get like 6k extra gold....thats way way too much if u use that equasion..that how it is when u first get the script going

It's just an equation. You can plot any number in it, thats just an example.

yea i know what ur saying.. but its alot easer said than done hahaha but yea man thats gonna be a main goal after the weekend to get that right

What I meant by Monster Level I meant the level of the monster (lol) Like Lich Lords are level 5 monsters. I'm not taking in the effect of the creatures Fame and Karma. Just the plain level.

Maybe the claim system as it currently exists isn't so bad. All that a system based on fame will do is steer more money to the people who can kill the high fame creatures. I don't think that established chars will be hanging in the sewers killing rats. Perhaps the best course would be to just reduce the amount to say... 50 gp instead of 100. That way noobs could get some money but it doesn't quite pile up as much.

After all, this is really designed to clean the shard, not be a money maker. Remember that all the creatures drop money on their own. Perhaps even 25 gp for claiming.

I too believe 25gp would be perfect...As of right now there is 3 ways to collect money on a kill...Gold, Loot bag and tokens...

As Xrak said....have a little so new folks can collect some loot...but make it low
